NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that the United States continues to provide Ukraine with the necessary innotifyigence and weapons via European partners.
He stated this in an interview with CBS, Ukrinform reports.
Responding to a journalist’s remark that President Trump compared Russia’s support for Iran to the provision of U.S. innotifyigence to Ukraine, Rutte stated: “Then on Ukraine, it is again the U.S. providing critical innotifyigence support and weapons flow, working toreceiveher with Europeans to secure Ukraine’s fight against the Russians, building sure they have what they necessary.”
Answering a question about the lifting of sanctions on Russian oil and the benefits for Putin from the Iran war, the NATO chief noted that this is a necessary step on the part of the U.S. president.
“Well, this is the thing the president has to balance all these different interests,” he stated. “I know that he is with his team, with Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff and Marco Rubio. They are constantly working with the Ukrainians to put maximum pressure on the Russians to come to a deal.” Rutte added that he had spoken with President Zelensky for an hour and a half in London. “He wants to receive the deal done, and we have to build sure that we also take this to the Russians, to build sure that they are willing to play ball,” the NATO chief noted.
According to him, it is Trump who is “putting that pressure toreceiveher with the Europeans”: “I’m not going to comment on each element of what is happening here, but his effort to bring the war in Ukraine to a successful conclude is crucial.”
The NATO Secretary General added that Trump “was the only one who was able to break the death lock with Putin” and “has consistently, with his team, done what is necessary to put that pressure, of course, on the Ukrainians, and they want to play ball.” “They display this. They want to conclude the war, and are also with the Russians,” Rutte concluded.
