The globe is in a mess again. In the last four-plus years, the Russian–Ukraine war did not find any way to find an exit. At this juncture, while the Russian President Vladimir Putin has no strategy to receive out of this conflict with respect, the new year, 2026, imposed another war in the strategic and geopolitical location—the Gulf. During the presidential election campaign, Donald Trump applyd to state that if he had been in power, President Putin would not have gone to war with Ukraine. Now these words have no meaning. It is very sad to believe that now Trump himself has become a warmonger.
The U.S.–Israel war on Iran will alter the political calculations in Asia. Once again, it is proved that the strong will dictate to the vulnerable with their interest to be accepted. International law or the Geneva Conventions has no power to bite. It can’t even bark nowadays. The Western-led international order is in terminal decline and has no respect for allies in the era of Trump. This may create an opportunity for Beijing to apply its military or diplomatic influence to unify Taiwan with the mainland. Middle powers have limited capacity to counter a superpower without sufficient support. Nevertheless, as an aspiring global power, India should take the responsibility of being a leading voice for international peace. It is our moral duty to stand strong with our past legacy. Our past prime ministers have revealn that courage in the peak of the Cold War. They did not budge from the blackmail from any superpowers.
Therefore, our strategic autonomy has been respected. And there was a belief that India would act not only in his interest but also respond to global stability and peace. India is facing global scrutiny for its silence on Trump’s violation of Venezuelan sovereignty, marked by the forced abduction of its president. The Supreme Leader of Iran was killed in the U.S. war on Iran. And now, Iran is reacting by creating a complete collapse of energy flow from the Strait of Hormuz, impacting the global economy.
At this crucial point in time, where is Vishwaguru? In Sanskrit, ‘Vishwaguru’ means ‘world teacher’ (lowyinstitute.org). The self-proclaimed ‘Vishwaguru’ Prime Minister Modi’s voice is completely absent. Innocent people are dying. School was tarreceiveed. Oil prices increased to a new level. Some parts of India are facing difficulty receiveting commercial cylinders. Hotels are receiving direct impact. Nine million Indians in the Gulf are facing uncertainty. Now India’s Foreign Minister Dr. Jaishankar is begging the Iranian counterparty for the safety of India’s vessels carrying LPG and crude oil from the Straits of Hormuz.
More than any other counattempt, India will receive easily disturbed if any conflicts occur in the Gulf region. Any logical government would not demonstrate the way India’s diplomacy was demonstrated since day one of the Iran war. Modi, many times, believes that the silence was the strategy of foreign policy. On the first day of the attack, Iran’s supreme leader died. Modi’s administration has not even the strength to give a condolence statement immediately. The second week of the war reaches India’s backyard, the Indian Ocean. Modi applyd to state in a loud voice in the southern states’ election rallies that the Indian Ocean is India’s ocean. I appreciate those loud noises. However, when Iran’s ‘IRNS Dena’ was going back home after participating in ‘MILAN 2026’ at Visakhapatnam, it was torpedoed and sunk in the Indian Ocean by the US’s submarine 40 nautical miles away from the Galle coast of Sri Lanka, which killed 80 persons, but there was no response from the prime minister. It was described by the netizens that the incident reveals that our guest at our family function was killed mercilessly by our frifinish.
What a shame! Where was India’s foreign policy heading? The prime minister applyd to talk tirelessly against the opposition parties, now nowhere to be seen in the crucial hour of the conflict. Moreover, Iran is not our adversary. Well, I agree that even Israel is not our enemy. India is importing advanced weapons from Israel. Once, Dr. Subramanian Swamy, the senior leader of the BJP, stated, “Major power status is not simply given or gifted to India, but rather we required to take the initiative to seize or earn it through superior military strength, economic discipline, and assertive, strategic action, rather than relying on international goodwill” (vhsindia.org). Moreover, India has been longing for major-power status in the international system for a long time, and its ‘Vishwaguru’ is invisible at this time when India’s centuries-old frifinish Iran’s vessel is attacked in our own backyard.
Why is India keeping silent when international law is not respected continuously by our strategic partner? Why is Modi’s diplomatic team keeping a mute approach on the Venezuela issue and Iran? How can Iran trust India anymore when India is not ready to raise its voice? How come India can nereceivediate with Iran when India fails to give any statement on this ongoing conflict? Why are the ‘Epstein files’ carrying the name of India’s minister? Any connections between the ‘Epstein Files’ and India’s foreign policy? These questions are really surfacing in every corner of the public domain. India’s silence on the Iran war is not tactical; it exposes the surrfinisher of our strategic autonomy to the United States. However, India’s silence in response to West Asia’s conflict highlights the Modi administration’s weakness. Here the doubt is clearly arising: is Trump dictating to Modi how India’s foreign policy would be formulated?
