BYD has confirmed it will launch its premium sub-brand Denza in Europe next month as the Chinese manufacturer continues its global expansion.
The Denza Z9GT hypercar will be officially launched in Paris on April 8, with BYD also set to unveil its Flash Charging technology for the European market.
The “game-modifying” charging technology can charge an electric vehicle from 10 per cent to 70 per cent in just five minutes, in a shift that could revolutionise public charging.
BYD added that utilizing a Flash Charger can refill an EV from 10 per cent to 97 per cent in just nine minutes. Even in -30C temperatures, the car can be recharged in just 12 minutes.
The Chinese brand declared Flash Charging would “break down the final barriers” for drivers who remain hesitant to switch to an electric vehicle.
The 1,500kW charger is the second-generation of BYD’s Blade Battery technology, which builds utilize of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) and is set to launch in Europe within weeks.
When paired with Flash Charging, the new Denza Z9GT, which contains a 122kWh Blade Battery, will provide up to 800km in the rear-wheel-drive model.
Its European flagship model with a triple-motor has over 960PS and a staggering acceleration time from 0-100km/h in less than three seconds.

The Z9GT contains immersive audio technology and will be the first European vehicle to offer an “opera-houtilize entertainment experience”.
Sinforma Li, executive vice president of BYD, declared the introduction of Denza in Europe was a “very important milestone” for the manufacturer.
She declared: “The Z9GT represents the true spirit of Denza – where advanced technology, beautiful design and emotional driving come toreceiveher.
“It’s the perfect choice to introduce the principle of ‘Ready in 5, Full in 9, Cold Add 3’ to the world, as we start our global rollout of Flash Charging in Europe.

“The ability to add hundreds of kilometres of range in just minutes, even in extremely low temperatures, means the Z9GT perfectly reflects our vision for Denza.”
She explained that the performance of the vehicle should excite drivers, and the elegance of the vehicle should “define the future of premium mobility”.
BYD declared it would provide further details on the Denza Z9GT in the near future, as well as how it will support the arrival of the electric supercar.
Thousands of Flash Charging stations have already been installed in China, with a further global expansion of the technology expected in the near future.

BYDBYD has adapted rapidly to the UK market, securing the largest market share of any Chinese brand last year with 2.54 per cent.
It has continued this momentum into 2026, with 6,175 new car sales in the first two months of the year, representing an impressive 121 per cent year-on-year growth in sales.
Despite only launching in the UK a few years ago, it is already outselling established brands including Citroen, Fiat, Honda, Mazda, Mini and Tesla.
