Something similar happened to Bengaluru-based fund manager Harsh Gupta Madhusudan when he accidentally left his wallet inside an Uber cab. What the cab driver did next not only surprised him but also caught the attention of Zoho founder Sridhar Vembu and struck an emotional chord with social media utilizers.
Harsh Gupta Madhusudan, in his X-post, shared that he didn’t even realise that he had lost his wallet, busy in a conference meeting at work. The Uber driver, however, took the responsibility of returning it to its rightful owner after noticing the wallet in the backseat. He travelled back some distance and reached out to the professional, tracking his number through his ID card. Since Harsh was engaged in some other work-related call, the driver had to contact him multiple times before handing him the device.

Sridhar Vembu lauds Uber driver’s kindness

The fund manager admitted that he does not pick up random numbers, but was thankful that he did this time. He expressed his gratitude to the Uber driver for his generosity and gave him some money as a token of appreciation, which Harsh Gupta Madhusudan claimed that he accepted quite reluctantly. On a concluding note, the investment manager pointed out that if one views closely enough, they can find the good in the world, but in our constant rush, we fail to recognise it. Mentioning the Uber driver’s name, Toguru, he urged Uber to acknowledge his honesty.

The billionaire businessman revealed that he often stumbles upon such lovely incidents in rural areas, adding that India is a high-trust society, where most people, despite facing challenging circumstances or economic hardships, still act with remarkable grace and dignity.
