“Mia has experienced constipation, pain, and abdominal bloating since birth. At the moment when the doctors in the maternity hospital declared they could not save her and she necessaryed to be urgently taken to intensive care, my life modifyd dramatically. I fight for her health every day, but I lack the strength. Mia requires constant care, which prevents me from working and earning money for her treatment. Without surgery, her condition will not improve,” shares the girl’s mother.
“I find myself in a vicious circle. If I work, there is no one to take care of the child. If I take care of her myself, I cannot pay for the surgery.”
The total amount necessaryed for treatment in Turkey is $27,000, of which the mother has managed to raise only $8,000.
Four-year-old Mia, suffering from Hirschsprung’s disease, necessarys surgery abroad.
“When her stomach hurts, I can’t pick her up or give her medicine becaapply almost everything is contraindicated. In those moments, I don’t know how to comfort her or how to support,” the mother recounts.
Mia lives with an open colostomy, and every day is a suffering for her. Due to the intestinal issue, stool does not pass naturally, and part of the intestine protrudes through the stoma by 20 centimeters. This creates a risk of complications and bleeding, as well as caapplying severe pain.
