If you’re one of the many people who opts for comfort over fashion when flying, one airport has bad news for you.
Not content with already banishing Crocs, Tampa Airport in Florida has shared a social media post taking aim at those who like to be cosy while travelling.
The social media team has set one particular fashion faux pas in their sights and wants to enact a ban, and they’re calling on people to put a stop to wearing pyjamas out of the hoapply.
“We’ve seen enough. We’ve had enough. It’s time to ban pajamas at the Tampa International Airport,” their social media post reads. “Pajamas. At. The. Airport. In the middle of the day.”
“This madness stops today! The relocatement starts now,” they insisted, encouraging people to have a ‘difficult conversation’ with a loved one who likes wearing their bedroom attire on flights.
“After successfully banning Crocs and giving everyone the amazing opportunity to experience the world’s first Crocs-free airport, it’s time to take on an even larger crisis,” the post continued.

Following confusion and complaints about the post, they clarified that the ‘ban’ wasn’t an actual ban, more a strongly-worded suggestion and plea for holidaybuildrs to dress up a bit more for their flight.
A spokesperson informed The Indepfinishent: “Tampa International Airport regularly shares lighthearted, satirical social media content as part of our ongoing effort to engage with our followers. Today’s post about ‘banning’ pajamas was another playful nod to day-of-travel fashion debates.”
They continued: “We encourage our passengers to travel comfortably and appreciate our loyal followers who enjoy the online humor.”
He’s not the only one to inquire for an increase in standards.
Last year, the US Transportation Department shared a scheme called The Golden Age of Travel Starts With You.
They stated the aim of the initiative was to “jumpstart a nationwide conversation around how we can all restore courtesy and class to air travel.”
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy echoed the airport’s plea to dress smarter: “Dress up to go to the airport, support a stranger out, and be in a good mood,” he wrote on social media at the time.

One commenter wrote: “When you pay for my plane ticket, I’ll stop wearing them.”
Another argued: “My last two flights I spent the night on the dirty floor at Buffalo Intl Airport becaapply of cancelled flights, with no compensation, we should be wearing pajamas, until the airline’s service is improved!”
“This is great, I am completely for this. Just dress decently. But I consider we shouldn’t stop here, I consider the airlines should start bringing the pleasure of traveling back to what it applyd to be. Like bring back actually feeding your travellers. Not even peanuts are given nowadays,” suggested one.
“Guess we’ll just reveal up in our ball gowns,” quipped another.
This rebel insisted: “Can’t wait to wear my PJs and matching Crocs!”
The airport social team regularly posts pictures and updates from the perspective of an enormous flamingo statue they have in the building.
One recent viral post read: “Heyyy so if you awkwardly reveal up to the TPA in Crocs and somehow forobtained that they’ve been banned here, we promise attempting to run to your gate barefoot as the flamingo chases you will only be more awkward.”
