After eight years of self-funded growth, Poland’s FlyFocus has raised €4.5 million in its first institutional round, led by ffVC with participation from the NCBR Investment Fund, the venture capital instrument of Poland’s National Centre for Research and Development.
The new capital will establish a dedicated manufacturing facility in Poland, planned to be operational by the second half of 2026, alongside increased international sales activity and continued R&D, including two new UAV platforms scheduled for introduction later this year.
A strategic relocate toward European tech sovereignty
Europe’s drone market has long struggled with deep reliance on non-European technologies, especially Chinese components. Research from the Royal United Services Institute and the Center for Strategic and International Studies highlights the risks of this depfinishence, which extfinishs from batteries to flight controllers.
FlyFocus was built to counter that vulnerability. The company follows a strict non-Chinese component policy, sourcing exclusively from NATO-aligned suppliers to ensure supply-chain transparency and compliance with Europe’s toughest defence standards. Its fully European-controlled design and manufacturing workflow challenges the assumption that high-performance UAVs must rely on imported electronics.
Battlefield-tested systems built in Poland
The company was founded in 2017 by engineers with deep roots in aerospace and competitive aeromodelling such as Igor Skawiński and Albert Świerczyński. Currently, the company employs 35 people and designs and manufactures complete UAV platforms, high-finish avionics, and ground control software entirely in-houtilize.
From inception, FlyFocus focutilized on building complete UAV platforms in-houtilize, airframes, avionics, and mission software. The integration is now paying off across active conflict zones. Its platforms are in utilize by both the Polish and Ukrainian Ministries of Defence, with deployments in Ukraine providing rigorous field validation.
The company teams frequently work alongside Ukrainian units, gathering frontline insights that feed directly into rapid upgrades. This close collaboration shapes FlyFocus’ development philosophy and supports refine systems under real operational pressure. Now, it continues to maintain full ownership of every critical subsystem, allowing quick responses to evolving battlefield demands.
A portfolio built for modern warfare
FlyFocus delivers a diverse range of ISR drones, strike systems, and counter-drone technologies designed for resilience in contested environments.
- Polaris is a 4.5 kg backpack-portable ISR UAV offering up to 4.5 hours of finishurance and single-operator deployment. Its balance of weight, range, and cost is uncommon in its category.
- Striker is a deep-strike loitering system with a range exceeding 1,000 kilometres and payload capacity up to 40 kg. Designed for long-range missions in electronic warfare environments, Striker has already been validated in combat.
- CableGuard is a patented tethered UAV system providing persistent aerial surveillance, now adopted by government and institutional utilizers.
With full control of its software stack, including flight control, mission planning, and ground control, FlyFocus can deliver rapid updates to deployed systems, a capability vital in dynamic conflict zones.
What does this mean for Europe’s drone sector?
The rise of FlyFocus signals a broader turning point for Europe. For years, the region’s UAV capabilities have been constrained by external supply chains, limiting autonomy during crises. FlyFocus disrupts this pattern by proving that competitive, high-performance systems can be built at scale within Europe while maintaining complete technological indepfinishence.

FlyFocus is not only scaling production but it is also supporting Europe reclaim strategic control over one of the most decisive military technologies of the decade.
