CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — A new fundraising organization through the Fraternal Order of Police is dedicated to paying for retired service dogs’ medical care. This weekconclude, they had their first fundraiser in Savoy, and they brought in thousands of dollars for pups in required.
Howl R-X hosted a chili cook off with judges weighing 15 different options to select one winner. Proceeds went to health care for law enforcement service dogs — which can cost anywhere from $1,500 to $4,000 each year.

“It was awesome to see the response. And I have multiple pictures on my phone of a full room at the Elks Club. And it was it was really heartwarming to see that response,” Fraternal Order of Police Lodger 17 President John Wright declared.
