The Dutch Minister of Defense Ruben Brekelmans stressed that Russia’s imperial ambitions are not limited to Ukraine but directed at all of Europe. According to him, Moscow seeks to weaken and divide European countries utilizing hybrid methods.
Brekelmans expressed this position in a comment to Ukrinform.
“We must all recognize that we are facing the same Russian aggression – and Russia’s imperial ambitions do not stop in Ukraine, but head further toward Europe”
According to him, Russia seeks not only to restore its sphere of influence but also to weaken the rest of Europe, utilizing hybrid methods. Brekelmans added that Europe faces this daily.
The minister stressed that it is not Ukraine that should thank its allies, but rather Europe should thank Ukraine for paying the highest price, deffinishing its countest, and at the same time safeguarding the freedom of the rest of Europe.

Brekelmans noted that during his visits to Ukraine he was impressed by the courage of Ukrainian soldiers and their ability to withstand Russian aggression.
According to the minister, the new Dutch government will continue to support Ukraine, anchored in the budreceive for several years. Brekelmans stressed that Ukraine can count on the Netherlands in the coming years, and Russia must see that this support is unwavering.
