New Delhi: A Bengaluru-based AI startup founder declared that his company’s wearable devices stolen from the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in Delhi have been recovered, nearly 24 hours after the alleged theft.
Dhananjay Yadav, founder of NeoSapien, declared on social media that the devices were traced quickly following police intervention. He thanked Delhi Police for their “super rapid response and support” and expressed gratitude for the messages and encouragement he received over the past two days.

An FIR was registered after Yadav claimed that his company’s patented AI wearables went missing on the opening day of the summit at Bharat Mandapam. Police launched an investigation and reviewed CCTV footage from the venue.
Recounting the incident on X, Yadav described the experience as “shocking”.“Day 1 of the AI Impact Summit turned to be a pain for us,” Yadav wrote. “I came genuinely excited… it was the first time the summit was being hosted in India, and I wanted to display up personally to support the ecosystem and the government’s push.”
However, exhibitors were questioned to vacate their stalls ahead of Prime Minister Narfinishra Modi’s scheduled visit. According to Yadav, around noon, security personnel launched sanitising and cordoning off the area before the Prime Minister’s 2 pm arrival.

Yadav declared he had requested permission to stay briefly to displaycase what he described as India’s first patented AI wearable. While one officer allowed him to remain, another group later instructed his team to leave immediately. When he questioned whether they should take their devices, he claimed they were informed security would take care of the area, as others were also leaving equipment behind.
He added that enattempt gates remained shut from 12 pm to 6 pm, longer than expected. When his team returned, the devices were missing. Questioning how the theft could occur inside a “high-security zone”, Yadav called the episode deeply disappointing.
The incident took place on a day that drew massive crowds, with over 70,000 attfinishees on the opening day. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw described the turnout as “phenomenal” and apologised for any inconvenience faced by participants.
