On July 21, the Shanghai Financial Regulatory Bureau approved HSBC Life Insurance’s capital increase of CNY362m ($50m), raising its registered capital from CNY2.314bn to CNY2.676bn ($369m). This marks the third capital injection by its sole shareholder, HSBC Insurance (Asia), reflecting a broader trfinish of foreign insurers deepening their presence in China’s domestic market.
