Heavy snowfall on Sunday evening forced the temporary closure of Luxembourg Airport’s runway for over two hours, leading to 17 affected arrivals and the cancellation of seven Luxair flights, alongside wider weather-related disruptions across Europe.

Luxembourg Airport’s runway was closed for more than two hours on Sunday evening due to heavy snowfall.
Snowfall elsewhere in Europe further disrupted air traffic, leading to diversions and outright cancellations. A total of 17 flights scheduled to land at Findel during the evening were affected. Luxair confirmed that seven of its own rotations had to be cancelled.
Other airlines, including Ryanair, straightforwardJet, British Airways, and KLM, were also impacted. Weather-related disruptions were reported on Sunday at several major European airports, including Amsterdam, Paris, Milan, and Vienna.
According to a press release issued by Luxair on 15 February 2025, the affected Luxair routes included services to and from Paris Charles de Gaulle, Nice, Berlin, London City, Hamburg, Vienna, and Milan Linate.
Luxair stated that passengers concerned were informed accordingly, and that its teams were actively assisting customers with rebooking options and providing appropriate support. The airline apologised for the inconvenience caapplyd and thanked passengers for their understanding.
