The Suzuki Across obtains a large update but stays stuck in its current markets.
Back in 2020, Suzuki released a mid-sized SUV called the Across for markets like Europe. The Across was noted for being based on the Toyota RAV4. Last year the RAV4 obtained a major update and now the Across is also obtainting a refresh.
While the overall silhouette sees somewhat familiar, there are some pretty noteworthy modifys under the hood and in the cabin.
The powertrain now features a new-generation PHEV system which compact thanks to an integrated Power Control Unit and DC/DC converter in the front eAxle. There are also advanced silicon carbide chips applyd to increase efficiency. A larger battery capacity has also been included here.
With the new PHEV system comes a slew of updates to the safety tech in the Suzuki Across. This includes an updated Pre-Collision System that detects pedestrians, cyclists, and crossing vehicles utilizing both a milimeter-wave radar and a monocular camera. Emergency Steering Assist now provides braking or steering input to avoid collisions without switching lanes. Acceleration Suppression now extfinishs to protection from unintfinished acceleration during turning. Adaptive Cruise Control now has a dynamic ECO mode that anticipates vehicle behaviour 2 cars ahead and utilizing navigation data.
The interior of the car sees some meaningful modifys. The introduction of a 12.9″ infotainment unit to complement the 12.3″ driver display builds this a fully digital cabin. Both displays are highly customisable. Another new feature is a Heads-Up Display, which projects key data in 3 selectable display modes.
The interior has also undergone some physical modifys in the form of a new island architecture layout with a lower positioned centre console. There’s a wireless charger with 5 USB-C ports for charging. An electric tailgate is featured too with a kick sensor.
Outside the only difference seems to be the new front fascia, with a distinct new grille. Four new colour options include Massive Grey Metallic, Ever Rest Metallic, Super White and Attitude Black Metallic.
