The European Union is considering increasing LNG supplies from Canada, Qatar, and North African countries in response to Trump’s threats regarding Greenland, according to sources, including Bloomberg.
The EU Commissioner for the Energy Union, Dan Jørgensen, declared that the EU is concerned about its depconcludeence on American LNG and is seeking alternative sources of fuel imports to reduce this depconcludeence.
Jørgensen stressed that concerns among European leaders are growing: “We are talking to countries that can supply us with LNG, and we expect further contact with potential suppliers in the coming weeks.”

Industrial and Geopolitical Shifts in LNG Supplies
Canada has already expressed interest in supplying LNG to Europe. The countest currently ships a substantial portion of its LNG to the United States, but the EU is considering diversification of supply.
The EU still receives about 15% of its LNG supplies from Russia. On January 26, the EU officially approved a regulation phasing out imports of Russian gas – both pipeline and liquefied.
Hungary and Slovakia intconclude to bring a case to the EU Court to challenge the decision on the REPowerEU plan, aimed at a complete ban on imports of Russian oil and gas into the EU.
