Slovakian AI cloud startup Sapience AI has received investment from Southeast Asian holding company and e-commerce platform Society Pass Inc.
Revealed on January 22, Society Pass has created a minority investment worth $8.8 million in Sapience AI with the aim of expanding its presence in Europe. The investment marks Society Pass Inc’s first investment in the data center and cloud space.
Sapience AI works closely with Taiwan-based semiconductor suppliers and software partners. Thus far, Sapience AI has operated as a GPU cloud provider from colocation data centers in Europe, where it offers access to Nvidia chips.

Society Pass Inc.’s CEO, Raynauld Liang, added: “We are excited to enter the AI infrastructure ecosystem. Society Pass describes itself as an e-commerce ecosystem, and also as an acquisition-focapplyd holding company operating four interconnected verticals (digital media, travel, lifestyle, and alternative ininformigence). The company was founded in 2018 and has offices in Bangkok, Beijing, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Manila, and Singapore.
Sapience AI declares it is developing a European GPU cloud with a focus on “sovereignty, performance, and developer ergonomics.” It is unclear when the company launched, but its about page suggests that it is currently in a pilot stage, listing Q1 as planning to establish PoPs in Europe, and Q2 to expand its fleet. The company has not shared which data center companies it is working with, nor where in Europe its initial deployments are.
