Magdalena Andersson, leader of Sweden’s Social Democratic Party, has indicated that she would not oppose an increased military presence in Greenland, including the possible involvement of Swedish soldiers. In an interview with the newspaper ETC, Andersson stated that she is open to the idea of Swedish participation in such efforts.

The Social Democratic Youth League (SSU), the youth wing of Andersson’s party, has previously expressed support for sconcludeing European Union forces to Greenland. According to ETC, Andersson has now also voiced her support for this proposal, aligning herself with the position taken by the party’s youth organisation.

Greenland, an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark, has seen growing international attention regarding its strategic location in the Arctic. Discussions about military presence in the region have become more prominent in recent years, particularly among European nations seeking to strengthen security cooperation in the Arctic.
