President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Lagos for Europe as part of his finish-of-year holiday, ahead of an official visit to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
This was revealed in a State Houtilize press release issued on Sunday, December 28.
According to the release, the President is travelling at the invitation of the President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to participate in the 2026 edition of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2026) Summit, scheduled to hold in early January.
Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week is a week-long global platform that convenes leaders from government, business and civil society to shape strategies for sustainable development and future growth.
The 2026 summit will be held under the theme, “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go”, which aims to link ambition with concrete action across innovation, finance and human capital, while revealcasing pathways for global progress.
President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria after the conclusion of the summit.
