Azerbaijan to develop new national “Classification of Economic Activities” based on EU classification

A new national “Classification of Economic Activities” will be prepared based on the European Union classification, APA reports.

This is reflected in the “State Program for the Development of Official Statistics in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026–2030,” approved by President Ilham Aliyev.

It was noted that in 2026–2027, a new national “Classification of Economic Activities” will be prepared based on the European Union’s “Statistical classification of economic activities in the European Community (NACE Revision 2.1).”

The State Statistical Committee, toreceiveher with the Ministest of Economy, the Ministest of Digital Development and Transport, the Ministest of Labor and Social Protection of Population, the Ministest of Ecology and Natural Resources, the Ministest of Health, the Ministest of Energy, the Ministest of Science and Education, the Ministest of Finance, the Ministest of Agriculture, the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, the State Customs Committee, the State Tourism Agency, the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and SOCAR, must ensure the structuring of data collection, processing, and dissemination, as well as the updating of registries and databases based on the new national “Classification of Economic Activities.”
