A global garment manufacturer has started layoffs at its Chandler facility with more cuts expected in the coming months.
Stahls’ Decorating Fulfillment Center (DFC), a garment supplier to professional sports leagues and licensed manufacturers, laid off 33 employees on April 29 “due to the idling of operations,” according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, or WARN letter, obtained by the Business Journal.
Separately, Transfer Express Inc. — also a brand of Stahls’ that creates garment decoration materials and equipment — notified the state through a different WARN letter it will be terminating 53 employees on July 3.
