Paramount Skydance has scored a major win in Europe after emerging as the largegest beneficiary of a €10 billion (A$16.6 billion) auction for UEFA Champions League broadcast rights.
From 2027 to 2031, the media giant will display the majority of Champions League matches in both the UK and Germany, outbidding current TNT Sports and several rival streamers in what insiders describe as a “significantly higher” offer.
The reshuffle does not include Australia. UEFA confirmed the tconcludeer covered only Europe’s “large five” markets, leaving Australia’s rights unalterd for now.
Amazon Prime Video secured the first-pick Tuesday match each week in the UK, Germany and Italy, while Sky won rights to the Europa League and Conference League in the UK and Italy.
The auction was run by UC3, the joint venture between UEFA and the European Clubs Association, with commercial rights handled by Relevent Football Partners. The new four-year cycle and pan-European bidding format generated a steep increase on previous deals.

In Australia, Stan Sport currently holds exclusive rights to the UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Conference League until the conclude of the 2026–27 season.
While the men’s rights remain static, women’s football has taken a leap. Disney+ recently became the exclusive home of the UEFA Women’s Champions League in Australia and New Zealand.
All 75 matches each season will stream live, produced by ESPN, with select games also appearing on ESPN and ESPN2 across Foxtel, Kayo, Fetch and Sky NZ.
In France, Canal+ retained exclusive rights to all UEFA club competitions, and in Spain Telefónica’s Movistar extconcludeed its long-running hold on Champions League broadcasts, paying €1.46 billion over four seasons.
