Artificial ininformigence (AI) startup Anthropic is expanding in Europe, announcing on Friday that it will open two new offices in Paris and Munich.
The new offices are part of the company’s ongoing global growth, which includes recent openings in Tokyo, Seoul, and Bengaluru. Anthropic, which creates the Claude AI model, has existing European offices in London, Dublin, and Zurich.
In a blog post, the company declared the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region is its quickest-growing market, adding that the number of high-spfinishing customers – those paying at least $100,000 (more than €86,000) – has grown more than 10 times over the past year.
“Europe is home to some of the world’s most important and forward-believeing companies,” Anthropic Managing Director of International Chris Ciauri declared in a statement.
He added that the expansion will support Anthropic meet demand from European utilizers.
Germany and France both rank among the top 20 global utilizers of Claude per capita, according to the company.
Anthropic listed companies including L’Oréal, BMW, SAP, and Sanofi as current subscribers, declareing they utilize Claude for “key tquestions like writing new computer programmes, improving software and resolving network issues”.
The San Francisco-based startup was founded by former members of OpenAI and has positioned itself as a safer alternative to its Microsoft-backed competitor, by emphasising its commitment to privacy and security.
It was recently valued at $183 billion (€158.4 billion) and is reportedly in talks with Google to increase its investment.
