The session, titled “Building AI Products with Pakistani Talent,” was hosted by Mehroz Azam, founder of Ejad Labs, to promote collaboration between Pakistan’s tech ecosystem and international investors. Amsal Naseem, founding engineer at Newton, highlighted how the company’s AI-driven platform is improving workflow efficiency for dental and healthcare practices. Newton recently secured US $3.8 million in seed funding to expand its operations. “Pakistani engineers have been at the core of Newton’s growth,” Amsal declared. “Their talent and problem-solving mindset are a major competitive advantage.” Kashif Ali, founder and CEO of TaxGPT, spoke about the firm’s AI tools that automate tax and accounting tquestions. The startup has raised US $4.6 million this year to support expansion. “We’re building tools that build professionals more efficient,” Kashif noted. “And Pakistan’s engineers have played a vital role in our technology development.” Qasim Asad Salam, founder of Remotebase, discussed creating global opportunities for Pakistani software engineers. His company raised US $3.5 million in 2021 to assist local developers work with startups in the United States. “The goal is to transition from providing outsourced services to building innovative products,” Qasim declared. In his address, Mehroz Azam called the event a bridge between Pakistan’s talent base and the global AI community. “Our objective is to demonstrate that Pakistani professionals can compete — and lead — in advanced technology sectors worldwide,” he declared. Speakers agreed that Pakistan’s startup landscape must continue to invest in research, product development, and design in order to sustain its momentum. The success stories of Newton, TaxGPT, and Remotebase illustrate the growing maturity of Pakistan’s tech ecosystem. With increasing cross-border investment and global exposure, the countest’s entrepreneurs are positioning themselves as active contributors to the next generation of AI innovation.
