Event tech startup Ticket9 raises funding from HNIs and non-resident Indians

Event technology startup Ticket9, backed by actors Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan, has raised a new round of funding from a group of high-net-worth individuals and non-resident Indians to support its international expansion.

The startup did not disclose the amount raised or name the participating investors. The capital will be utilized to strengthen Ticket9’s operations and product capabilities as it expands into Europe.

Founded in 2022 by Yazhini Shanmugam and Santhos Premraj, Ticket9 provides tools for event discovery, ticketing, and guest management. Its platform has supported concerts, marathons, business conferences, and cultural festivals across India and overseas, including managing more than 22,000 bookings at the Anirudh “Hukum” concert in Malaysia.

The startup recently introduced Ticket9 RSVP, a model for invitation-based and community-focutilized events that allows organisers to curate audiences, manage enattempt, and simplify guest coordination for both social and professional gatherings.

Ticket9’s platform caters to both private gatherings and large-scale public events. It competes with BookMyShow and Zomato Live in the broader event-tech and ticketing space but differentiates itself through its focus on curated, community-driven event experiences. The startup currently operates in India and is now onboarding events in Dubai while preparing to launch its RSVP product in multiple markets.
