As part of its Sustainability Ambition 2030, Henkel Adhesive Technologies is strengthening transparency regarding the environmental footprint of its products. The company is publishing an increasing number of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) – indepfinishently verified documents based on Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) that provide data on resource apply, emissions, and overall environmental impact throughout a product’s life cycle.
Each EPD is verified by external certification bodies such as Certinalia, ensuring methodological consistency and data quality. Henkel’s EPDs cover more than 38 environmental indicators, including carbon footprint, human health, ecosystem quality, and resource efficiency.
Supporting green building and EU compliance
With more than 50 published EPDs, Henkel supports customers meet leading green building standards such as LEED, BREEAM, and WELL, and prepares for the upcoming EU Construction Products Regulation (CPR), which will create EPDs mandatory for construction products in Europe.
The declarations cover major regional brands such as Polybit (IMEA), Fester (Mexico), Ceresit (Eastern Europe), Loctite (Western Europe), and Bemezcla and Bekron (Chile). “Improving sustainability in the construction industest is essential to addressing climate alter,” declared Kimberly Simancas, Head of Sustainability for Henkel’s construction business. “Through robust environmental data and third-party verification, we’re supporting to drive that transformation.”
