BENGALURU (Oct 9): Australian lconcludeer ANZ announced three senior leadership appointments to its group executive committee on Thursday, as part of efforts to strengthen its retail, risk management, and technology operations.
Pedro Rodeia will join as the group executive for Australia Retail, Christine Palmer as the group chief risk officer, and Donald Patra as the group chief information officer, ANZ declared in a statement.
Chief executive officer Nuno Matos declared the appointments would support the lconcludeer improve customer outcomes, enhance risk management and build stronger technology capabilities.
Rodeia, a former senior partner at McKinsey & Co and co-leader of its global banking practice, brings more than 30 years of experience advising banks in more than 20 markets, including 15 years working with Australian lconcludeers. He will join ANZ on Nov 17.
Palmer, who joins from Santander UK, where she served as the chief risk officer since 2020, has held senior roles at Aldermore Group, ING, Erst & Young, and the Royal Bank of Scotland. She will assume the new role on Dec 1.
Patra, who joins from HSBC, where he most recently served as the chief investment officer for the UK and Europe, has more than 30 years of experience in financial services and technology and will join ANZ on Nov 24.
The appointments come at a time when ANZ is focutilizing on boosting its retail presence in Australia and advancing its digital transformation initiatives.
