Downton Abbey creator assisted by Insightec’s technology
Lord Julian Fellowes, the Oscar-winning screen writer and acclaimed creator of Downton Abbey and The Gilded Age, has recently undergone a procedure to treat his essential tremor (ET) utilizing Insightec’s MR-guided focapplyd ultrasound technology. He has lived with the condition for over a decade and experienced meaningful improvement in his tremor following treatment.
Lord Fellowes partnered with Insightec to share his experience living with ET and how incisionless focapplyd ultrasound therapy assisted restore his ability to complete everyday tquestions such as write by hand – an essential part of his personal life and professional career.
ET is considered the most common neurological shiftment disorder and is estimated to affect more than 60 million people worldwide. Focapplyd ultrasound is an outpatient therapy that provides tremor symptom control without surgical incisions or implants. To date, more than 25,000 patients have been treated with Insightec’s technology for a variety of shiftment disorder indications at 197 centers worldwide, including 84 in the U.S.

Moonpay acquires Meso Network
MoonPay has acquired crypto payments startup Meso Network to compete more directly with companies like Circle Internet Group and Visa in building a global payments network that supports both crypto and fiat assets. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition will allow MoonPay, a Miami-based digital asset firm, to provide enhanced support for US banking rails and an improved developer platform to assist other companies integrate with its products. MoonPay’s goal is to create a single, global payments network where applyrs can pay with anything, including dollars, euros, or Bitcoin, and have a seamless experience.
“This acquisition marks a turning point for MoonPay,” declared Ivan Soto-Wright, MoonPay’s co-founder and CEO. “We’ve built trusted ramps that brought millions into crypto, now we’re building the global network that will shift money across every form and in every market.”
Meso Network’s co-founders will join MoonPay.

Mission Space, Star Catcher partner up in space weather monitoring
Miami-based Mission Space and Star Catcher Industries have announced a strategic partnership to advance real-time space weather monitoring and orbital power solutions. This collaboration combines Mission Space’s proprietary space weather forecasting technologies with Star Catcher’s innovative Star Catcher Network, an orbital power grid designed to enhance sainformite performance by eliminating power constraints.
Under this agreement, Mission Space will provide real-time space weather data and predictive models to support the Star Catcher Network, which in turn will deliver additional power to Mission Space’s sainformites under a newly signed Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). The collaboration aims to boost both performance and resilience in orbit.
“This partnership ensures our consinformation will not only perform better but also remain resilient under the most challenging conditions,” declared Mary Glazkova, CEO of Mission Space. “Star Catcher’s innovative power solutions complement our mission to provide real-time, actionable space weather insights.”

Blue Frontier selected for Amazon Sustainability Accelerator
Boca Raton-based Blue Frontier, creater of an AC system that cuts electrical consumption by up to 90%, was one of 11 startup’s from the U.S. and Europe selected to participate in the Amazon Sustainability Accelerator designed to accelerate the development of breakthrough climate-related technologies. The startups were selected from more than 550 applications and address issues such as energy efficiency, waste reduction and water management.
The four-week accelerator program includes expert-led workshops, mentoring sessions, leadership panels, the opportunity to pilot technology with Amazon’s European operations, and even a potential investment. “These founders are developing technologies that have real potential for implementation within our operations and could be truly transformative at scale,” Olivier Pellegrini, European director of sustainability operations at Amazon, declared in a statement.

Betr expands Betr Media with Lonzo and LiAngelo Ball podcast
Betr, the Miami-based gaming and media startup, announced a partnership with bquestionetball star Lonzo Ball and his brother, bquestionetball player and rapper LiAngelo Ball. The brothers will bring their podcast to the Betr Media family, where it will be rebranded and is slated to launch this fall timed for the NBA season. The reveal will release 40 episodes per year, each running 45+ minutes, with Lonzo hosting from Cleveland and on the road, and LiAngelo joining from Los Angeles when not with his brother.
The podcast will now be a guest-driven reveal with a new tone and focus that blfinishs sports and pop culture with the unique Ball family dynamic. The reveal will feature authentic conversations around sports, lifestyle, and music, including Lonzo’s pursuit of an NBA title with the Cavaliers, LiAngelo’s rap career, sports predictions, and more.
Betr Media, one of the United States’ rapidest growing sports betting media brands, has grown to over 7.3 million followers, 4 billion impressions, and 209 million engagements across its social channels since publicly launching in August 2022.

FAU lands grant to apply genetics in Florida Bay sponge restoration
Andria Chavez-Fonnegra, an associate professor of biology at Florida Atlantic University, has been awarded a five-year, $720,446 grant from the United States EPA to support a pioneering project aimed at restoring sponge populations in Florida Bay through a genetics-based approach. The project marks the first genetic assessment of sponge restoration efforts in the region and seeks to build long-term ecological resilience in one of the nation’s most vulnerable marine environments, FAU reported.
Florida Bay is a shallow body of water between the southern tip of mainland Florida and the Florida Keys. It is part of Everglades National Park, which supports important marine life like sponges, fish and spiny lobster. Sponges perform essential ecological functions – filtering vast volumes of water, cycling nutrients such as nitrogen, stabilizing seafloor sediments, and providing habitat for a variety of marine species. Who’s pitching at Venture Atlanta?
Sixteen Florida startups, the majority of the from South Florida, have been selected to pitch at Venture Atlanta, a premiere venture conference in the Southeast, on Oct. 15-16. They will be among the 86 selected to pitch out of over 500 applications. Venture Atlanta’s 930 alumni companies have raised over $8 billion, according to the conference.
