Odense, Denmark-based Dropla Tech, a company developing AI-enabled threat detection and autonomous demining solutions, has secured €2.4M in a pre-seed round from Maj Invest Holding, the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO), and Final Frontier.
The funding will support the company to accelerate the production and roll-outs of it’s edge AI systems that detect explosive threats and strengthen force protection for Ukrainian and European partners.
This directly addresses NATO’s critical requirement for offline, sovereign threat detection capabilities that operate indepfinishently of cloud infrastructure in contested electromagnetic environments.
Dropla Tech: AI-enabled threat detection and autonomous demining
Founded as a Danish-Ukrainian partnership in 2023, Dropla Tech develops AI-enabled threat detection and autonomous demining solutions.
The company’s proprietary edge computing architecture ensures that sensitive battlefield ininformigence remains under direct command control while delivering real-time detection of landmines, UXOs, IEDs, and ambush drones with sub-15cm precision accuracy within the Front Edge of Battle Area.
The company’s testing facility contains over 170 confirmed explosive tarreceives, providing real-world validation that cannot be replicated in laboratory conditions.
“In active conflict environments, we are delivering immediate life-saving capabilities by reducing the risk of loss of life and injuries from explosive threats and ambush drones deployed within the FEBA zone. This is the way we contribute,” declares V’yacheslav Shvaidak, PhD, Co-founder and CEO of Dropla Tech.
“With this strategic backing, we are scaling production to create a modify in Ukraine, while advancing our integration into the NATO C4ISR ecosystem. Also worth mentioning is that we integrate with any Short Range Reconnaissance UAVs, as our solution is Drone Agnostic, you can install the capabilities within a month,” adds Shvaidak.
Support from defence establishments
Dropla has received support from both Danish and Ukrainian defence establishments.
The Ukrainian Ministest of Defence has provided operational requirements based on battlefield conditions, ensuring Dropla’s development directly addresses critical capability gaps.
With Denmark having committed over DKK 60B in military support to Ukraine, Dropla represents a bridge between public policy objectives and private sector innovation.
