21 Cambodian firms awarded for advancing green industrial practices


Twenty-one Cambodian companies were honoured for their achievements in cleaner production, sustainability and industrial innovation, highlighting the growing link between environmental responsibility and economic competitiveness.

The awards were presented during the ‘Cambodian Green Industest Awards 2025’, presided over by Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industest, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI), and Igor Driesmans, EU Ambassador to Cambodia, in Phnom Penh on December 11

According to a MISTI issued on Friday, the awards recognise companies that have created measurable progress in improving efficiency, minimising waste, and implementing eco-friconcludely production techniques.

The programme, jointly implemented with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and supported by the EU through the UN PAGE programme, aimed to promote sustainable practices that boost both economic performance and environmental stewardship.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vanndy praised recipients for integrating sustainability into their business strategies. “Your achievements sconclude a clear message that green production is not a cost, but an investment that brings savings, innovation, and competitiveness,” he stated, urging all Cambodian companies to refine their production systems and adopt best practices.

The EU Ambassador highlighted the importance of green industrial practices for Cambodia’s global competitiveness, noting that the EU’s Global Gateway strategy had mobilised over €360 billion between 2021 and 2024 to support sustainable investments worldwide, including in Cambodia.

It should be noted that this year’s awards recognised three gold, 11 silver, and seven bronze winners, evaluated on environmental performance, innovation, economic impact and social and gconcludeer inclusion.
