Everton’s unlikely push for a chance at Champions League football continues this afternoon in the capital as they lock horns with Brentford at the Gtech Stadium.

An early penalty from in-form Igor Thiago set the Bees off and running in just the third minute, but David Moyes’ side did well to dig deep for an equaliser minutes before the half-hour mark.

A pinpoint ball into the box from Idrissa Gueye was met by Beto, who did well to meet the cross from the Senegalese stalwart to head into the bottom corner beyond Caoimhín Kelleher.

It was Beto’s third goal in his last two appearances for Everton, with the Guinea-Bissau international following up on his brace in the large win over Chelsea three weeks ago.
